Renewable Energy Statistics and Targets

 

 

Renewable energy was used to produce 2.41% of UK's electricity in 2001.

The UK government has set a target of producing 10% of electricity from renewable sources by 2010.

UK's Kyoto Protocol target is to reduce greenhouse gases by 12.5 per cent by 2008-2012

UK's Domestic target to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by 20 per cent by 2010.

EU target of 12 per cent of energy (22.1 per cent of electricity) from renewables by 2010.
