Sun Rise is a scheme run in conjunction with the Green Energy Centre for the installation of solar water heating and photovoltaic panels, providing access to bulk discount systems and affordable installation. It is the first scheme to contain these two technologies in the country.

Sun Rise is a bulk discount scheme that reduces both the cost and hassle involved in installing solar water heating. For free hot water from the Sun, Sun Rise brings you installed systems from £2,400 (for 1-2 bed flat) and from £ 2,900 (for 3-4 bed house) inc. VAT and a Low Carbon Buildings Programme grant of £400 for domestic installations. A Low Carbon Buildings Programme grant of 50% , or up to £3,500 per kWp, for solar PV installations is also available . The cost of an installed PV begins at £ 4,000 , inlcuding grant and VAT.
