Funding

Financing Renewable Energy Installations

A number of different funding sources are available for renewable energy installations, depending on the type of development. CEN can offer advice on or source these finance options.

Grants
  • PV MDP : Government funding for householders, community groups (including local authorities and housing associations) and small businesses. Between 40 and 65% of installation costs. Grid connected systems only.
  • Clear Skies : Government program for householders and community groups (including local authorities and housing associations). Up to 50% of installation costs.
  • Community Energy : support for public service organisations for installation of new and refurbishment of old community heating systems.
Equity
  • Enhanced Capital Allowance : ECAs enable a business to claim 100% first-year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying plant and machinery.
  • ESCo Model : An existing company purchases and runs the renewable energy technology and sells back the heat or electricity at a competitive rate.
  • Interest-Free Loans.

Please email or call CEN on 020 8683 6694 for information on the most appropriate funding source for an individual project.
