The three-year ASTUTE project, funded by Transport for London and European Union's Intelligent Energy Europe programme, aims to cut carbon dioxide emissions from transport in cities by increasing the proportion of cycling and walking journies.

ASTUTE (Advancing Sustainable Transport in Urban Areas by Promoting Energy Efficiency) is carried out by nine partners in six cities across Europe: London, Dublin, Graz (Austria), Budapest, Siracusa (Sicily) and Granada (Spain). While some partners are working with large employers in suburbs to introduce travel plans and others run fairs and events to raise public awareness about sustainable transport modes, CEN’s brand new travel planning service is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized businesses.
