Directly through South West London Local Energy
Support Programme we have links and partnerships with a large number
of local and regional organisations
and forums
including:
South West London HECA/LASP Forum
Regular meetings are held between the SWL LASP
and HECA officers in the region, to share experiences and ideas,
and to take a co-ordinated approach to sustainable energy activities
in the borough. For example, during Energy Efficiency Week 2003
the local authorities, in co-operation with the SWL EEAC, designed
a solar competition, where the householder who made the most energy
efficiency improvements during the time of the competition won
a solar hot water heating system.
London Renewables
Steering Group
Renewable Energy Action for London (REAL) Partnership
The activities carried out under the REAL initiative are steered, and implemented,
by members of the partnership, which includes 23 local authorities, London
Sustainability Exchange, Energy Solutions, Energy Saving Trust, London Renewables,
and the funding partners, which include Association of London Government, London
Energy, New Opportunities Fund, Scottish Power, and the SEED Programme.
Croydon
Environment Partnership
The Croydon Environment Partnership is responsible
for the development of environmental policy within the Croydon
Strategic Partnership. As part of the Environment Partnership’s
activities the LASP is also involved in the Partnership’s
Energy sub-group, which is responsible for developing energy policy
for the borough.
Richmond
Building Responsibly Group
The Building Responsibly Group (BRG) was set up as a special interest group
by the Richmond upon Thames LA21 group. The BRG aims to promote greater understanding
of sustainable, healthy building by those commissioning and undertaking development
and refurbishment of buildings. In April 2004 the BRG organised an Affordable
Ecohousing Seminar, in co-operation with the SWL LASP, to explore the opportunities
available to Richmond Council to provide sustainable housing to residents.
Hillingdon Affordable Warmth Group
The group was established to develop Hillingdon’s Affordable Warmth Strategy.
The steering group includes representatives from a number of local community
organisations including Uxbridge Citizens Advice Bureau, Age Concern, Pension
Service, Healthy Hillingdon, HAVS, and the Housing Benefit and Social Services
departments at Hillingdon Council.
Wandsworth
Environment Forum
The Wandsworth Environment Forum comprises of individual residents and members
of community groups. The aim of the Forum is to exchange experiences and ideas
on local environmental issues. The Forum acts as a liaison between the local
community and the Wandsworth Local Strategic Partnership, providing Wandsworth
Council with a steer on environmental policy matters.
