Mini Combined Heat and Power

Financing your installation

Although CHP technology makes sense in the long term, high initial capital costs can can initially prove an obstacle to installation. CEN has the flexibility and resources to design services and processes to meet the specific needs of your businesses or organisation.

CEN offers three types of financial service to assist with the installation of a mini-CHP system:

Grants, Capital allowances, and CCL exemption
CEN offers assistance with applications for Enhanced Capital Allowances, government grants, and exemption from the Climate Change Levy.
Our impartial brokering service undertakes specific negotiations for single CHP units, or multiple CHP units in one or several locations.

Government funded loans
CEN offers a loan for the cost of installation. The terms of the loan are calculated to give, where possible, an immediate positive cash flow based on expected fuel reductions and loan duration.
For this option, loan repayments are made approximately equal to energy savings, so the client stands to gain the maximum saving from the decreases in fuel consumption. However, the client is liable for repaying capital irrespective of the performance.

Energy Service Contracts
CEN offers an energy service contract for the installation. This is a no-risk route to installation of mini CHP. Purchase, on going operation, and servicing of the unit is managed and financed by CEN. The client continues to pay for fuel, but receives guaranteed fuel price reductions.
This option requires no initial capital outlay, and there will be a guaranteed reduction in the cost of heat and power at the site through the installation. The maintenance charges are zero, and CEN bears the risk of repaying the capital, irrespective of performance. However, the client is tied to a contract.
