Coldbusters

Energy efficiency grants for the fuel poor

The Coldbusters grant scheme installs energy efficient heating and insulation measures in private sector fuel poor properties.

It is funded by the grant budgets of our partner local authorities, and provides a complete package, generating referrals, taking client enquiries, surveying, appointing installers, processing quotations and managing payments.

Coldbusters Currently operates in 12 local authorities, managing an annual budget of £1.5 million including from Minor Works Grants, Renovation Grants, HRA (Home Repair Assistance grants) and DFG (Disabled Facilities Grants).

We also manage capital works programmes in excess of £1 million pounds for a number of local authorities, installing energy efficiency measures into local aurthority housing stock.

At every stage of our administration process we are only a freephone call away for our clients to answer any questions they have about the application process or the measures they are having installed.

Publicity campaigns are designed and managed in house. Publicity carries the Coldbusters freephone number

Referrals are logged on our fully integrated call handling, surveying and grant management database.
Our in-house surveyor team conducts a technical survey to decide which measures to install. Our surveyors also assist with Local Authority application forms and so on.

We assign installer(s) according to the survey, referring to Warm Front if needed. Installer quotations are checked against our tendered fixed price structure.

We do not process installer invoices until we receive a 'customer satisfaction card' from the client.

Post inspections are carried out on 10% of jobs. The percentage of post inspections carried out can be determined by the funding provider.
