Installer Selection

Installers joining the group must demonstrate that they meet our criteria before they are assigned any work: we require insurance, registration with relevant statutory bodies, and client and trade references.

New installers remain on probation until they have completed 20 installations. During this period installers are closely monitored on the following criteria:
- compliance with the CEN Technical Specification
- customer services
- compliance with scheme time scales
- quality of paperwork
- after sales services
- compliances with prices schedules

Installer Monitoring

In addition to ensuriing quality installations, close monitoring of installer performance enables us to distribute work efficiently to ensuring that installers do not become overloaded.

We operate a flexible policy with installers enabling them change the areas which they work in, and the amount of work they take on. This ensures that installers only take on work which they can deliver.

Price Schedules and Tendering

The CEN Installer Group operates under two generic schedule of rates which cover all the schemes it manages: one for able-to-pay schemes and the other for fuel poor grant scheme. All installers work to the same schedule of rates: this enables us to guarantee best value, as well as giving us the adaptability to set up schemes in a very short time.

The schedule of rates is decided during our annual tender where Installer Group members are required to tender to maintain their membership, and new installers are invited to tender.
