Health Referral and Partnership Schemes

npower Health through Warmth

In partnership with npower we run Health through Warmth in South and West London, and Kent. The scheme is supported by the NHS and NEA and provides awareness raising, and a one-stop-shop referral mechanism for health and social care workers to refer their clients. For more information call 020 8683 6696

Within our society there are vulnerable people suffering due to cold or damp living conditions and whose finances are under stress. CEN works closely with key workers, volunteers, and partner organisations to make our communities warmer and healthier.

We provide these key workers with free adaptable awareness-raising sessions about our schemes and about affordable warmth.- contact us if you are interested in a training session for yourself or your team, see the contact details at the base of this page.

Following the training session these key workers become Referrers. We provide them with a simple referral mechanism for their clients, using faxable forms, or a telephone hotline, so that we can find the best grants or assistance. We also provide regular newsletters and updates on their clients referred.

Once clients are referred, CEN's one-stop-shop service:

  • Matches vulnerable households with the most appropriate grants
  • Provides clients with face-to-face advice
  • Gets homes efficiently heated, properly insulated and draught-proofed
  • Provides temporary heating to help prevent further deteriation of clients' illnesses whilst they are waiting for installation
  • Offers access to the npower crisis fund - a charitable fund that we use as a safety net for clients that are ineligible or cannot wait for other assistance
  • Refers clients to other complimentary services such as pensions services or benefits checking, or free smoke alarms provided by the fire brigade.

For more information, or to arrange a Health through Warmth training session, email us or call 020 8683 6696.
