The local authority Kent Action to Save Heat scheme is being relaunched this month with even lower prices on loft and cavity wall insulation and heating. This now allows residents the chance to become energy efficient at the lowest possible cost.

Kent residents can take advantage of having cavity wall insulation installed for only £125 for a small or medium sized house to £175 for a 4 bed detached.

Prices are even cheaper for those living in homes heated by electricity or coal. For instance the cavity wall insulation prices range from £50-£100.

A new feature of the scheme is that for those on certain income related benefits there is no charge, with a 100% grant for insulation measures.

Typical savings on an energy bill after installing cavity wall insulation is £70-£100 per year according to the Energy Saving Trust. By investing in insulation and efficient heating, householders will recoup the initial investment quickly with savings on fuel bills every year. This means that in less than 2 years the measure will be paid for and these savings will continue year after year.
