the
advice surgery at DISK is a great idea which gives
easy to access advice and is open to everyone.

A multi-agency advice surgery will be taking place
on the 1st March between 2pm and 4pm at Disability Information Services
Kent (DISK), 7 Town Walk, Folkestone for the residents of the Shepway
District Council area.
The event is supported by the npower Health Through
Warmth Community Projects Grants Scheme, and a range of agencies
will be there to give advice and support to local residents.
For example, staff from the Kent Benefits Partnership will be on
hand to give advice to citizens on how to maximise all benefit entitlement.
Many people are currently unaware of their rights to benefits or
are unsure of all those available to them. Dropping into the DISK
offices for a few minutes on the 1st March could make a big difference
to their income and remove many of their worries about how to pay
their bills.
A wide range of information for the disabled will also be available
including aids and equipment, mobility and transport and social
clubs
Visitors will also be able to find out about keeping safe and warm
in the home, saving energy and grants and discount schemes.
Kent Energy Centre will also be offering freebies to residents
such as free low energy lightbulbs.
The full list of agencies that are attending are: npower Health
Through Warmth, Kent Energy Centre, Kent Benefits Partnership and
Disability Information Services Kent.
