Amid the glorious sunshine of Mondays Sutton
Environment Fair, local residents were given the chance to
win £100 off a solar hot water system courtesy of the
local Energy Efficiency Advice Centre.
We cant make the winners
name public yet as we are in the process of contacting him,
but he will be able to harness the Suns power to heat
water, said Tracey Mills of the South West London Energy
Efficiency Advice Centre. We hope he will also take
our advice by topping up his loft insulation and using a few
more low energy light bulbs.
South West London Energy Efficiency Advice Centre gave free
advice to hundreds of local residents on how to save energy
and on using renewable energy such as solar power. Their model
house showed the importance of proper insulation and their
solar panel showed that sunshine can be harvested successfully
in Britain. Those who completed a home energy check on the
day went into a free prize draw to win the £100 off
a solar hot water system and the winner was chosen at random.
Everyones a winner though, as each entrant will receive
a free energy advice pack based on his/her answers, advising
what action needs to be taken to improve the energy efficiency
of his/her home, such as saving of up to £250 without
switching energy supplier.
If you missed them at the fair, a good first step would be
