Project design and implementation

Services for the public and private sectors

CEN has developed bespoke renewable energy schemes for a number of local authorities, helping them meet their renewable energy targets. These schemes are designed to serve the domestic sector, but can be tailored to include other types of focus. Schemes can be easily integrated with existing local authority energy efficiency programmes.

CEN has the IT management systems in place to move from the design phase to operational within a two-month period. Typical scheme services include:

  • Development and distribution of scheme marketing materials
  • Impartial renewable energy advice and information via a dedicated local authority ‘hotline’
  • Surveys of client premises for renewable energy suitability
  • Use of CEN’s supplier and installer network, including support for new installers in the DTI training and accreditation process
  • Extensive support to clients with completion of grant applications
  • Administration of any Local Authority subsidies to fuel rich or fuel poor
  • Post-installation surveys

Scheme success can be evaluated regularly through CEN’s IT systems, ensuring that opportunities for improvement are identified on a continuing basis.
